18th ITS World Congress kicks off in Orlando
Orlando/Brussels, 17 October 2011 - The 18th ITS World Congress starts today, 17 October in Orlando, Florida with the motto “Keeping the economy moving”. For 4 days ITS stakeholders, public authorities, representatives of the ITS industry will attend this annual World Congress to share knowledge and insights on the ITS industry.
This year, along with remarkable plenary sessions, the World Congress will showcase 25 live technology demonstrations including lifesaving connected vehicles and additional technologies aiming to reduce driving costs, traffic congestion and emissions as well as improve travel safety. In addition to the standard schedule, the Congress will host several networking events such as an ITS Florida Welcome Reception & Dinner at the Discovery Cove and a “Coast to Coast” Networking Event at the Disney’s Hollywood Studios. 
ERTICO – ITS Europe, together with ITS Sweden and ITS Finland, welcomes guests at the European Pavilion. The Pavilion is the networking and meeting hub in the exhibition area (stand 1713), where participants will have the opportunity to discuss opportunities with the ERTICO team and Partner delegates. Join us on the European Pavilion for complementary cocktails on the opening evening at 5.10pm and get to know the most important people in the world of ITS.
The 18th World ITS Congress is hosted at the Orange County Convention Centre in the heart of Downtown Orange County, 15 minutes from the Orlando International Airport.

To share knowledge and experience within the ITS community is seen as a must in the development and implementation of ITS technologies. In that regard, European and World Congresses provide the ideal opportunity for all players of the ITS world to come together and make the necessary contacts to help move initiatives forward.
