The platform for exchange on field Operational Tests
Field Operational Tests (FOT) consists of a comprehensive programme of research to assess the impacts of ICT systems on driver behaviour, both in terms of individual (safety) benefits and larger scale socio-economic benefits. During the lifetime of the different Field Operational Tests (FOT) carried out both at the National and European level, there is a crucial need for a platform of knowledge exchange in order to let individual FOT’s benefit from each others’ learning experiences. The FOT-net project is addressing this need.
Objectives
The FOT-Net project’s primary objective is to establish a platform for strategic networking of existing and future National, European and Global FOTs (e.g. US and Japan).
Open to all stakeholders from public and private sectors, this networking platform will provide a benchmarking overview of the socio-economic potential of ICT based functions and systems for road transport all over Europe.
The project will also contribute to improve significance, visibility, comparability and transferability of available FOT results at National and European level by promoting the implementation of a common European FOT methodology (FESTA results).
