ERTICO Partner Kapsch TrafficCom presents: “ITS in daily life” - road user charging and the environment

The successful implementation of environmental and energy related policies, such as the Lisbon Agenda or the Energy and Climate package on a European level, and a coherent post-Kyoto protocol on international level, is of utmost urgency. Devoted to the environment, the Stockholm ITS World Congress addresses and underlines the importance of the year 2009 setting the course for tackling the interrelated and societal challenges. The deployment of ITS in daily life plays a crucial role in these challenges. “Eco” Tariff Models for Road User Charging, inter alia, are promising means to mitigate environmental impacts and to relieve congestion by steering and influencing driving behaviour.
