ITS News: PSTT holds telematics conference

The Polish Association of Transport Telematics, a member of the ERTICO hosted Network of National ITS Associations, held the 9th International Transport Systems Telematics Conference in Katowice and Ustroń, Poland, on November 4-7 2009. Organised in conjunction with the Polish Ministry of Infrastructure and the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, the conference brought into focus current ITS issues in Poland, its neighbours and Europe as a whole.

The conference kicked off in the Silesian University of Technology, Katowice, with high level welcoming speeches by the chairman of Scientific and Programme Committee Professor Jerzy Mikulski, followed by Minister of Infrastructure Mr Cezary Grabarczyk, President of the Management Board of LOT Polish Airlines Mr Sebastian Mikosz, President of Association of Polish Electrical Engineers SEP Professor Jerzy Barglik, Dean of Transport Faculty Warsaw University of Technology Professor Wojciech Wawrzyński, Chairman of TelematicsPRO e.V. Mr Michael Sandrock, then moved on to the plenary session. The plenary session was opened by a presentation by Henry Wasung, Communication Officer at ERTICO.
Following the plenary session, the conference decamped to Ustroń for the general sessions.
