Project News: TISA

The Travellers Information Services Association (TISA) celebrated the end of its second year during the General Assembly at Hotel Bedford (Brussels) on the 3 December 2009.  It also took the opportunity to elect new officers for the next two year term.  Past President Michel Reneric (TDF, France) handed over to Jonathan Burr (ITIS, UK) who takes up the President role.  Jarkko Jaakkola (Destia, Finland) was voted into the Treasurer position and Bev Marks will take over the Executive Director role in January 2010.

TISA has grown in membership from 36 to 90 in the last two years.  Michel Reneric used a family analogy and said: "The marriage of the TMC Forum and the TPEG Forum has been a great success and the TISA family has benefited from the mobile.info child - the future for TISA is good!"  Jonathan Burr commented that he was happy to be taking over and leading TISA into an important period of further TMC developments and to the first TPEG service implementations in the near future.
