AGILE announces 23 November 2006 Workshop in Madrid
Date: 14 November 2006
Project event to explore the future of Galileo and Location-Based Services.
Those with an interest in the application of Galileo and Location-Based Services (LBS) should not miss the "Galileo and LBS – The AGILE project" workshop, which will take place on 23 November 2006 at Espacios y Congresos (the former Palacio Municipal de Congresos) in Madrid, Spain.
The AGILE (Application of Galileo in the Location-Based Services Environment) project – in which ERTICO is a participant - is managed by the Galileo Joint Undertaking (GJU) through the EC 6th Framework Programme. AGILE aims to foster the take-up of global navigation satellite services in the mobility sector, putting special emphasis on the use of EGNOS and Galileo. Location-based personal mobility services are widely expected to be the largest Galileo mass market, both in terms of number of users and revenue opportunities. AGILE’s ultimate objective is to define a roadmap that will bring profitable EGNOS and Galileo-based applications to reality.
Insights into LBS The 23 November workshop aims to give a general project overview of AGILE, as well as provide interesting insights into the LBS value chain. Speakers from major players in the LBS industry have been invited to present and contribute their expertise to the subsequent discussions.
The workshop has been scheduled to run in parallel with the 22-23 November movilforum, a major event in Spain presenting advanced mobile solutions for business. AGILE workshop attendees will enjoy free access to movilforum. Further information on movilforum is available at http://www.feria.movilforum.com/
