CONNECT to concentrate on TMC

The EC-supported CONNECT project – in which ERTICO is a participant – will focus on RDS-TMC issues at the first in a series of TMC workshops, to be held in Prague, Czech Republic on 10 October. Hosted by the Czech Ministry of Transport, the workshop’s objective is to aid attendees from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary and Poland in their efforts to implement TMC services. 

Several members of the ERTICO-coordinated TMC Forum are slated to give presentations at the workshop and will support the event with their TMC expertise.

According to TMC Forum Coordinator James Burgess, many of the new EU Member States are now developing and implementing the TMC traffic information systems already ubiquitous in the EU-15. One of the aims of CONNECT is to support this process with development and best-practice information.

The next CONNECT-TMC workshop will take place in the first half of 2006 at a yet to be confirmed location.
