DG eCall steering group meeting

The second steering group meeting of the eSafety Forum’s eCall Driving Group (DG) took place on 14 October in Brussels. The meeting followed the lines of the previous DG eCall steering group meeting on 9 September, discovering what progress was made within the different eCall DG’s sub-working groups, identifying the difficulties encountered when writing the clarification papers and the issues that require action from the steering group in order to move forward.

The conclusions of the Mobile Network Operators group meeting of 15 September were reviewed, and presentations were made on PSAP (Public Service Answering Point) requirements, performance criteria and requirements for eCall generator. In addition, the participants discussed issues such as the need to develop a business model and the definition of the final content of the minimum set of data to be transmitted from the In-vehicle system through the GSM network to the PSAP. 

The next DG eCall steering group meeting will be 17 November 2005 in Brussels and the discussion will focus on the status reports from all sub-working groups based on their clarification papers.
