ERTICO News: ERTICO launches Partner Topic Groups

More than 60 Partner representatives gathered at ERTICO on Friday 8 February for the kick-off meeting of the new Partner Topic Groups.

On 8 February 2008, ERTICO – ITS Europe launched its new Partner Topic Groups, with the aim to accelerate the development and deployment of ITS by defining concrete future actions in the following areas:

• Mobility of People
• Goods Transport
• Security
• Environment

During the morning session, ERTICO CEO, Hermann Meyer, underlined the importance of strengthening interaction with the Partners and providing more opportunities for them to contribute ideas for new activities, as well as take an active role in implementing the ERTICO Strategy. He added that the groups would also help ERTICO better understand its Partners’ needs and interests in order to provide more value for membership. Vincent Blervaque, ERTICO’s Acting Director Development & Deployment, presented the objectives, structure and terms of reference of the new groups before participants split into parallel sessions during the afternoon to define the priorities and scope of activities of each group.

The next Plenary Session of the Partner Topic Groups open to all ERTICO Partners will take place on 3 June in Geneva.
