ERTICO News: Preparations for ITS European Congress well under way

The 7th European Congress and Exhibition on Intelligent Transport Systems and Services will take place in Geneva, Switzerland from 3-6 June. The event is organised by ITS Congress Association, on behalf of ERTICO - ITS Europe, in co-operation with the Swiss Federal Roads Office, the State of Geneva, the European Commission and the United Nations.

With the theme “ITS for Sustainable Mobility”, Geneva 2008 will focus on how best to optimise the use of the European transport network by exploiting all the most up-to-date tools and services available, as well as how to realise the synergy between intelligent transport systems, services and logistics.

A large number of ERTICO Partners from all sectors will participate in this year’s Congress. ERTICO-coordinated projects will feature prominently on the agenda, cutting across a wide range of ITS applications such as Traveller information Services, European tolling services, cooperative traffic systems for the environment, ICT for energy efficiency in transport, and last but not least core projects on safety.
