ERTICO News: TMC explored at Dubai event

27 November 2007 benefits of TMC introduced to Middle East at first NaviForum in Dubai.

Traveller Information Services Association (TISA) Coordinator and ERTICO – ITS Europe Project Manager James Burgess attended the first NaviForum Dubai event, held by ERTICO Partner NAVTEQ in Dubai on 27 November 2007. Mr Burgess gave a presentation on the importance of traffic information in navigation systems, the role of the TMC Forum and new TISA organisation and the implementation process and best practices for introducing TMC to new markets.

TMC services have not yet been launched for the Middle East but there is great opportunity in the fast-growing markets of the region. The attendees at the event included service providers, vehicle manufacturers and other stakeholders in the Middle East navigation market.
