ERTICO to present Nomadic Device Forum at SVOX convergence meeting
Date: 31 October 2006
Convergence of nomadic devices and in-car navigation systems to be explored at 16-17 November event.
ERTICO’s Head of Efficiency and Environment Paul Kompfner will present the Nomadic Device Forum at the SVOX Forum 06 meeting in Zurich on 16 November.
The Nomadic Device Forum is a joint initiative between ERTICO and the AIDE Integrated Project (in which ERTICO is also a participant). The Forum aims to identify the technical, safety and business requirements for a standards-based, harmonised gateway between the vehicle and a user’s portable device (including mobile phone, personal music player and portable navigation device). It has an active membership representing the leading players amongst automotive vehicle and system manufacturers, service providers, mobile phone operators and manufacturers, map makers, application developers, public authorities as well as the European Commission.
The 16-17 November SVOX Forum 06, with the theme “Excellence in Embedded Speech”, will provide an excellent opportunity to present the AIDE Integrated Project and Nomadic Device Forum’s progress to key technical and commercial decision makers from around the world.
The event aims to explore the convergence of nomadic devices and in-car navigation systems, and will be structured around three main points: convergence between nomadic devices and in-car systems, the future of HMI, and speech interface best practices.
