General News: AITS India hosts ITS conference

3-4 December ITS conference on safety and efficency takes place in New Delhi, India.

AITS India is organising an ITS conference in New Delhi from 3-4 December 2007. The theme is "ITS for Safe & Efficient Mobility in India".

The conference is sponsored by the Indian Ministry of Urban Development and will be attended by high-level decision makers from various cities across the country to discuss ITS implementation.

The Ministry of Urban Development’s Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) and the 11th Five Year Plan by the Planning Commission have placed priority on transport planning and development, with a specific mention of ITS integration and investments.

The December conference will showcase ITS best practices from around the world.
