General News: NYC ITS Congress paper deadline approaching soon!
Date: 28 December 2007

31 January 2008 is the final deadline for submissions of technical and scientific papers to be presented at the New York World Congress on ITS.
The Call for Papers deadline for the 15th World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems is just weeks away. Technical paper drafts and full scientific papers are due 31 January 2008.
Take advantage of the potential to present at this must-attend event which is expected to attract 10,000 delegates from more than 40 countries from 16-20 November 2008 in New York City. Are you concerned about the cost of attending the World Congress events? The World Congress on ITS has never been this affordable in recent years. Registration rates will be available soon and will include discounted and early bird rates for speakers, one day registrants, and the public sector as well as hotel rates as low as $217.00 per night.
Technical Papers may address technical subjects, as well as the institutional, business and economic aspects of ITS. We are looking for original content that forges new policy and practices, multimodal operations, sustaining the environment, dual use applications for safety, security and business services, and maintaining infrastructure, for example. We also are looking for reports on recent significant and substantive program achievements. Technical paper proposals should be no more than three (3) pages long, inclusive of an abstract or descriptive summary, and comply with the formatting rules (available at http://itswc2008.ntpshowsites.com/submit-a-paper.html) for accepted papers.
Scientific Papers are scholarly papers focused on research of advanced topics in ITS and focused on answering the question of “how does ITS work?” The World Congress is a major forum for academic and scientific excellence in the ITS industry. Scientific paper proposals should be no more than twelve (12) pages long and comply with the formatting rules (available at http://itswc2008.ntpshowsites.com/submit-a-paper.html) for accepted papers.
One important new feature of this World Congress is the opportunity for authors of scientific papers to have their work peer-reviewed and published in one of three notable scientific journals:
- “Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems” will focus on civil engineering aspects of intelligent transport systems, especially on issues related to intelligent infrastructure.
- “IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems” will focus on electrical engineering aspects of intelligent transport systems, especially on issues related to intelligent vehicles and fleet management.
- “IET Intelligent Transport Systems” will focus on all aspects of cooperation between vehicles and infrastructure.
If your paper is accepted, you will be informed by mid-May 2008, and the final version of the paper will be due by July 1, 2008. Final Technical and Scientific Papers should be no more than twelve (12) pages long and comply with the formatting rules (available at http://itswc2008.ntpshowsites.com/submit-a-paper.html) for accepted papers.
Papers must be submitted online no later than January 31, 2008. If you have questions about paper content or format, contact Nicole Oliphant at noliphant@itsa.org.
