ITS UK E-Ticketing in Rail Seminar in London, 13 October 2006

ITS United Kingdom, a member of the ERTICO-hosted Network of National ITS Associations, together with the Swedish Banverket, the public authority with responsibility for the Swedish railway network, is organising a one-day seminar on electronic ticketing in rail, Friday, 13 October 2006 in London. It is a follow-up event to the ITS World Congress in London, 8-12 October 2006.

The seminar will demonstrate a broad range of European experience in rail with electronic ticketing, covering subjects such as self-print tickets, tickets on mobile phones, location-based charging and manifest systems. Rail has not traditionally placed a large role in ITS, but electronic ticketing provides a striking example of the benefits of ITS to rail and multi-modal transport. Speakers will represent a number of both private and public sector companies.
