9-13 October 2007, 14th World Congress on ITS in China gathers the world’s most innovative and state-of-the-art in Intelligent Transport Systems and Services.

The 14th World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems and Services will take place in Beijing, China from 9-13 October 2007 and cover a truly global array of presentations, sessions and meetings.

The theme for this year is “ITS for a Better Life”. The event, co-hosted by the Chinese Ministries of Science and Technology, Communications, Public Security, Construction and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, will feature presentations from the strategic to the technical side. Exhibition stands and discussion sessions will give an added value too an already robust spectrum of ITS applications and innovations.

Opening and closing ceremonies
The Congress will be attended by business leaders and high level government officials from around the globe and will take an in-depth look into the future.

Speakers from the Asia Pacific, Americas and Europe regions will offer insight into their respective regions at the Opening Ceremony; while an ITS vision for 2020 will be the focus of the Closing Ceremony.

Plenary Sessions
Top level transport officials and leading representatives from the industry will present their perspectives on ITS policies, initiatives and international development trends in Ministers, Mayors and Industries Plenary Sessions.

Executive Sessions
Government transport officials and top representatives from leading organisations and businesses will share their strategic perspectives on the latest ITS achievements, issues and challenges in 10 Executive Sessions.

Special Sessions
The 60 Special Sessions have been designed as open forums for experts from governments, industry and academia to hold frank discussions and rigorous debate on specific topics.

Scientific Sessions
57 academic papers will be presented in 14 Scientific Sessions. “Best Scientific Papers” and “Best Student Scientific Papers” will be announced and awarded during the Closing Ceremony.

Technical Sessions
While the Scientific Sessions will focus on academic research, Technical Sessions will provide opportunities to discuss the actual ITS applications and deployment.

Interactive Sessions
Through the media of posters and PC demonstrations, speakers can directly interact with the audience and put their latest achievements and results on display. “Best Student Papers at Interactive Sessions” will be awarded in the Closing Ceremony.

Experience ITS for a better life
Exhibitions will cover over 15,000 square meters and cover the latest in ITS technologies. Indoor, Outdoor and Science Exhibition areas will present the most high-tech in the ITS world, from heavy equipment to popular science, with a showcase area that will allow participants to experience firsthand the technology that will make people’s lives easier and safer.

Technical and guest tours and additional social events will top off this monumental gathering of ITS. Individuals will be able to experience ITS working in the real world in both Beijing and Tokyo and even have the opportunity to get away from the hubbub with attractive and cultural tours of China, fabulous dinners and receptions and plenty of other entertaining activities.
