Partner News: Efkon delivers tolling solution to Asfinag

ERTICO Partner secures tender from Austrian highway operator.

In a public procurement procedure for the total delivery of up to 500,000 Go Boxes tolling solution, ERTICO – ITS Europe Partner Efkon succeeded in acquiring the tender from Austrian highway operator Asfinag.

The order is for a consignment of mechanically and electrically compatible devices for the Austrian truck tolling system. Efkon notes that the new generation CEN 278 microwave tags provide technical and performance-specific improvements that can be realised by adopting ASIC competences.

The integration of an interoperability mode based on MEDIA specifications makes the utilisation of Go Boxes in all international toll systems applying this standard possible.

The microwave core technology will be provided by Fenrits AG, the Norwegian subsidiary of Efkon. Fenrits has been supplying the Norwegian toll operator Autopass with 450,000 tags since 2006.
