ERTICO Partner announces David Pearson as chairman.

ERTICO – ITS Europe Partner innovITS is pleased to announce the formal appointment of David Pearson as their chairman. His first duty was to take charge of the annual general meeting and board meeting, both held on 21 August 2007. David is new to ITS which brings a fresh outlook to their challenges. He is currently learning fast about the wide range of applications in ITS, both products and services, and the technologies required to enable its delivery. With extensive experience in high level positions in industry, David will help the board strengthen the governance and performance of innovITS and prepare for the organisation’s future.

David Pearson has extensive experience in consumer goods, electronics and technology licensing. He graduated in Law from Oxford University and undertook blue chip management development in sales and marketing with Procter & Gamble, Mars and Pillsbury. David then became Managing Director of Sony UK Consumer Products where he led the team that built sales from £150 million to £523 million in ten years. His success was rewarded by additional responsibility for a region in Western Europe and then promotion as Managing Director for the entire Sony United Kingdom company - responsible for turnover exceeding £2.2 billion and 5000 employees.

As Managing Director of International Brands for Pentland Group plc, a then FTSE 350 company, he applied these skills to the licensing of brands like Speedo and Ellesse on a global basis and also managed the Footwear license from Lacoste.

For five years Pearson was Chief Executive Officer of NXT plc, a then FTSE 350 technology licensing company specialising in Audio. Under his leadership licensees - including 3M, NEC, Philips, Pioneer and Toshiba - launched products in all targeted sectors.

With this track record of success behind him Pearson has demonstrated a consistent commitment to developing businesses based on meeting customer needs and managing the dynamics of different routes to market. He has experience in dealing in over 50 countries and the network of contacts that goes with such experience.

As well as being Chairman of innovITS, David Pearson is also Chairman of AIM listed video streaming company Vividas plc, a Non-Executive Director of JP Morgan Japanese Investment Trust plc and a Governor of the University of Bedfordshire.
