ERTICO Partner selected to completely renew tunnel toll system.

ERTICO – ITS Europe Partner Technolution has been selected to completely renew the so-called back and front office for passages at the Westerschelde tunnel. By doing so, the system dovetails with future developments of N.V. Westerscheldetunnel and Movenience B.V.

In order to meet the demands for reliability and manageability, Technolution realises a modular toll system enabling N.V. Westerscheldetunnel to largely manage the system by itself. Robust electronics combined with embedded software ensure an accurate classification of the passing vehicles. Payment and back office systems are arranged according to a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and built on .NET-technology and SQL Server databases. With this combination of architecture, technology and software applications, Technolution offers a modern and future-proof foundation for the back and front office systems. Furthermore, Technolution will be responsible for maintenance of the new system for a period of at least four years.
