Partner News: The future of transport systems in Greece and worldwide

ERTICO Partner co-organises event to review the current status and future prospects in the field of transport.
The Hellenic Institute of Transport (HIT), a division of ERTICO – ITS Europe Partner CERTH - Centre for Research & Technology Hellas along with the Postgraduate Programme on Transport Systems of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) and in cooperation with the Center for the Proliferation of Science and Technology Museum of Thessaloniki are organising a week of reflection on “The Future of Transport Systems in Greece and Worldwide: A review of the current status and future prospects in the field of transport”.
The event, scheduled to take place from 5-8 May 2008, includes a one day conference with the central theme “The transport sector in Greece today: Current situation and prospects for the future”, and a series of evening sessions focusing on “Transport of the future: The prospects for Greece – trends and examples from other countries”.
Participants will have the opportunity to listen to very interesting speeches and presentations on the current policies and prospects in the fields of transport given by key representatives of industry, academia and local authorities from Greece. The conference will also include a speech on transport policies of the European Commission given by the DG TREN Director Fotis Karamitsos.
The event is free of charge and hosted by the Thessaloniki Science Center and Technology Museum.
