Project News: EOS launch event 14-15 May 2008!
Date: 11 March 2008
European Organization for Security holds first event in Brussels in May.
The European Organization for Security (EOS), of which ERTICO – ITS Europe is a founding member, was established in July 2007 by 25 major private European actors from Industry and Research engaged in the civil security domain in order to address the rapidly growing number of initiatives from both national and European administrations in the framework of the creation of a coherent security market in Europe.
The EOS Launch Event will gather members of the European Parliament and the European Commission as well as representatives from European Union Member States. Industry will be represented on both the supply and demand sides by high level personalities.
The first day of the conference will focus on addressing the high level political and strategic messages regarding recent developments in the security market. The second day will be dedicated to the discussion of common expectations and objectives among the research and industrial solution suppliers, users and operators as well as national and European administrations.
It will be an occasion for participants to raise questions and share ideas in the different domains of EOS:
- Border security (including maritime surveillance)
- Civilian protection
- Critical infrastructure protection (including end-to-end air passenger transport security, energy infrastructure security, supply chain security and surface transport security for travellers)
Transversal issues, like ICT network and data security, standardization and human factors, will also be presented and discussed.
The EOS Launch Event is an open event. Members of the press and representatives from both National and European administrations are expected to attend as well as market development experts in order to progress in the implementation of the EOS Working Groups.
