Project News: Rosatte and FeedMAP take centre stage in Geneva
Date: 13 June 2008
Close to 40 participants listened to presentations made by representatives from the different sectors, describing their perspective on future map updating, barriers to be removed and the potential of digital maps. Kees Wevers presented the ROSATTE project and a number of slides from WP1 on requirements & architecture.
FeedMAP and ROSATTE are part of a wider set of activities that were coordinated or supported by ERTICO such as NextMAP, ActMAP, MAPS&ADAS and the ADASIS forum. FeedMAP is a map data feedback framework concept where map deviations detected by in-vehicle systems are reported back to mapmakers. ROSATTE is a spin-off from the eSafety Working Group on digital maps. The 30-month project, which started in January, will demonstrate how a seamless link can be established between public authorities and mapmakers i.e. the owner of the data and their users. The main focus will be on speed limits, but functions should be extended to all safety attributes contained in maps for use by in-vehicle systems or nomadic devices.
