21-22 January 2008, joint SAFESPOT and WATCH-OVER User Forum workshop to take place in Stuttgart, Germany.
A joint SAFESPOT, a project in which ERTICO – ITS Europe is a partner, and WATCH-OVER User Forum workshop, "Cooperative Systems for Road Safety", will take place 21-22 January 2008 at the premises of the University of Stuttgart, Germany. The workshop aims to bring together all stakeholders in the area of cooperative safety (V2V and V2I) including the special role of vulnerable road users (VRU) and to create an opportunity where SAFESPOT and WATCH-OVER concepts and developments will be discussed, reviewed and updated. In addition both projects will have the opportunity to gain valuable input in terms of user needs, acceptance but also innovative ideas to be taken into account in SAFEPSOT or WATCH-OVER design and development cycle.
The workshop is being organised by USTUTT with the support of the dissemination managers and coordinators of the two projects. Participation is free of charge (except for the gala dinner).

SAFESPOT questionnaire
The SAFESPOT project, in which ERTICO – ITS Europe is a partner, is developing functions to be installed on vehicles and also on the road infrastructure that will help to prevent road accidents. Such functions help the driver to avoid critical situation using information exchanged (via radio communication) with other vehicles and with the road infrastructure.
Although the system development is at an early stage, the SAFESPOT Consortium has drawn up an online questionnaire related to these new “cooperative functions” for road safety.
You are kindly invited to fill in this questionnaire, it takes only 10 minutes. Answers will be of high value for understanding the prospective view of potential users, drivers like yourself, who will one day be offered the possibility of having SAFESPOT cooperative functions installed on their car. The more people that answer the questionnaire the better and more complete the picture so please invite others to do so as well.
