Project News: Workshop on Next Generation Telematics Protocol on 19 June

ERTICO-ITS Europe Partners BMW and WirelessCar, in cooperation with Connexis (whose parent company is ERTICO - ITS Europe Partner Ygomi) have developed a new telematics framework and a technology-neutral telematics protocol. The result of this collaboration is a new open approach to implementing telematics services called the Next Generation Telematics Protocol (NGTP).

On 19 June, a workshop on the Next Generation Telematics Protocol will be held at the ERTICO office in Brussels. Interactive presentations and discussions will offer participants the opportunity to learn more about how this protocol technology works and what its added value could be to vehicle manufacturers, suppliers, service providers and telecom operators.

Following an introduction on the status of NGTP, a discussion on the architecture, specifications and implementation approach is foreseen. To wrap up, participants will have the chance to exchange views on joint interest in establishing and improving implementation conditions through pre-commercial activity.
