RACC and TMC

ERTICO Partner RACC (Reial Autoṃbil Club de Catalunya) - the largest automobile club in Spain - took part in the 26 November Urban ITS Forum in Madrid, organised by ITS Spain. 

It gave a presentation which discussed urban traffic specifications, the need to promote the extension of TMC (Traffic Message Channel) information in urban areas and the current European urban TMC initiatives. The RACC is a member of the TMC Forum.

As a result of this event, RACC will lead an initiative to create TMC urban traffic in Spain. Two cities - Seville and Barcelona - will collaborate in the initiative which will be a long-term activity involving city councils and radio broadcasters. The conclusions of this pilot will be used as a best practice work and to start similar approaches in other Spanish cities.
