Registration begins for SIMBA South Africa Priority Workshop
Date: 09 May 2006
In a bid to increase road safety, improve mobility, and enhance transport efficiency, the SIMBA project on 4-5 December will bring together European ITS practitioners, infrastructure operators, vehicle makers and technology providers with their counterparts in South Africa. The workshop will define Road Transport research priorities in South Africa and assess possible cooperation possibilities.
The workshop will take place at the Stellenbosch University, situated close to the country’s capital Cape Town. As December is the peak tourism season in South Africa, those interested in participating are kindly requested to register now so that hotel reservations can be arranged.
To coordinate the long line of events planned in the four regions covered by the SIMBA project – Brazil, China, South-Africa and India – the SIMBA steering committee will meet on 6 June in ERTICO’s headquarters in Brussels. National coordinators from the four regions and European partners, including ERTICO, ACEA/EUCAR, FEHRL and ITS Denmark, will participate.
For more information or to register, please visit the SIMBA website www.simbaproject.org or contact SIMBA Project Coordinator Julia Wu.
