TMC Forum Showcase in San Francisco
Date: 16 November 2005
The ERTICO-coordinated TMC Forum organised a showcase in San Francisco, from 5 to 6 November 2005, just before the start of the 12th ITS World Congress. More than 100 participants gave up their pre-ITS World Congress weekend to join the two-day TMC Forum Showcase event at the Hilton Hotel.

They were rewarded with a series of presentations, discussions and highlights including the description of American TMC services, '511' traveller information services, HD and DRM radio technology, current TMC Forum activities, TMC development in China and Australia and the current work on TPEG Automotive. A lively panel discussion on TMC in new markets followed on Sunday afternoon. The accompanying exhibition included a live demonstration of Clearchannel's 'Total Traffic Network' TMC service on a range of devices.

The Saturday night reception in the Cityscape restaurant at the top of the Hilton tower gave a breathtaking view of the Bay and Golden Gate bridges, serenaded by a live band and entertained by a roving conjuror.

"Thanks again to our host NAVTEQ and also to ITIS Holdings. It was the sponsorship and dedicated support from both, which made this memorable event possible", notes James Burgess, TMC Forum coordinator.
