Background and Objectives
EU-India aims to improve road safety and the efficiency of transportation systems in India through the deployment of Intelligent Transport Systems and Services and in particular Intelligent Integrated Safety Systems (eSafety). The project is co-funded by the European Community's Sixth Framework Programme and is coordinated by ERTICO ITS-Europe in close cooperation with AITS-ITS India. The two organisations are using their ITS networks in Europe and India to bring together stakeholders from public authorities, industry and the research sector. EU-India organises events to explore areas for cooperation with the main focus being on priorities for ITS implementation in India.
