FeedMAP final workshop in Trento, Italy

The EC-Funded and ERTICO-coordinated FeedMAP consortium has announced its final workshop for 9 October 2008 in Trento, Italy. The meeting will be jointly organised with the Fiat research centre in Trento and will feature vehicle demonstrations and an exhibition of the results of the project. Among others, ERTICO Partner Fiat will demonstrate, together with Magneti Marelli, their prototype of an embedded navigation system, which is capable of detecting map deviation and of updating their maps. Also, ERTICO Partners Daimler and BMW, jointly with NAVIGON, will show their in-vehicle and nomadic clients in dynamic demonstration on the roads of Trento. The consortium will also showcase online demonstrations of the aggregation of map deviation on the FeedMAP service centre with implementations from Navteq, Tele Atlas and PTV. Eventually, the loop will be closed when they demonstrate how the data feeds back into the map databases in cooperation with the public authorities. In addition, Volvo Technology will demonstrate the opportunities that FeedMAP represents for commercial vehicles.

Trento is accessible by train, linking it to major Italian cities and airports such as Verona (90 km), Venice (153 km), or Milan (213 km). Verona is the most recommended with regular train connections, while Venice is a good destination if you would like to stay longer after or before the workshop. We would like to recommend to participants in the workshop to extend their stay in order to take some time to visit the region. Trento is the capital of the Trentino province in the Italian Alps, located in a beautiful valley where industry activities and attractive sites blend in harmoniously with the breathtaking mountain landscape.  We look forward to welcoming you in Trento!

Further information will be available shortly on the FeedMAP website, www.ertico.com/feedmap. For more information on the workshop please contact Maxime Flament m.flament@mail.ertico.com
