Michèle Merli, the French Interministerial Delegate for Road Safety and Delegate for Road Safety and Traffic, has confirmed her participation in the forthcoming ROSATTE workshop. She is the successor of Cécile Petit who was in this position since end of 2006. The delegation she manages depends on the French Ministry of Ecology, Energy, Sustainable Development and Spatial Planning.
The ROSATTE consortium is extremely pleased to welcome her as a keynote speaker at its first workshop on Requirements (Paris, 17 September). At the time of the French EU presidency, Ms Merli is willing to take the floor in order to express some views about road safety, and how technology can contribute to improve road safety through different projects and initiatives such as ROSATTE. France sees road safety as a priority for its presidency of the EU.
Please note that it is still possible to register for the ROSATTE workshop, and receive the recently published first project results in preparation of the meeting. All practical information and an online registration form are available on the ROSATTE website (www.rosatte.eu).
The ROSATTE project (ROad Safety ATTributes exchange infrastructure in Europe), co-funded by the European Commission’s 7th Framework Programme, aims at facilitating access to accurate and up-to-date safety attributes for more efficient road infrastructure management and maintenance, as well as for integration into digital road maps.
The consortium has defined requirements and an overall architecture and recently released its first report. The documents will be extensively presented and discussed at the event on 17th September in Paris. By sharing their feedback, attendees of the workshop will help steering the direction of the development of an open exchange infrastructure to ensure European access to road safety attributes and allow incremental map updates.
Looking forward to meeting you there.
