The Europe-wide EasyWay programme for ITS deployment is driven by national road authorities and operators with associated partners including the automotive industry, telecom operators and public transport stakeholders. Currently, 21 Member States cooperate on Europe-wide ITS deployment on the main corridors of the trans-European road network. The programme receives support from the European Commission, which contributes with a share of 20% (100 million € for the period 2007-09).

The programme sets clear targets for the deployment of ITS services on Trans European Road networks, identifies the set of necessary ITS European services to deploy (Traveller Information, Traffic Management and Freight and Logistic Services) and is an efficient platform that allows the European mobility stakeholders to achieve coordinated and combined deployment of these pan-European services.
