Smart Building Technologies (SBT) is a company originating from Siemens Serbia. With around one hundred employees and an annual turnover exceeding €15 million, SBT is classified as a small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) under Serbian legislation.
Over the past 10–15 years, the company has experienced continuous growth, resulting in a broader portfolio, a stronger presence in international markets, and an expansion of the number of global companies represented by SBT in the Serbian market. These include Axis, Milestone, MSA, Seetec, WinGuard and Xtralis.
At the same time, SBT's partnership with Siemens has continued to strengthen, and today SBT is the biggest Siemens Solution Partner in the Balkans. The company frequently supports Siemens Headquarters in the execution of major international projects.
As the portfolio has expanded, SBT has become involved in many of the country's most significant projects, including critical infrastructure, industrial facilities, energy, oil and gas, highways, and other strategic sectors.
In 2022, the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) business unit was established, and in 2025 SBT became a member of ITS Serbia. The company has also developed a strong partnership with the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering, University of Belgrade, particularly in the field of research and development.
One of SBT's flagship achievements is an airport ground traffic monitoring system, fully developed in-house and compliant with European standards. The system has already been successfully deployed at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport.
SBT has established a strategic partnership with ElcomBGD, a well-known and highly respected company in Serbia and the surrounding region in the field of Intelligent Transport Systems. This partnership is particularly successful in project implementation and research and development activities. As an additional reference, ElcomBGD is also an R&D partner of PTV, developing both software and hardware solutions.
