Yunex Traffic has reached a new milestone in secure vehicle communication: its Onboard Units (OBUs) are the first in Europe to receive Level 1 Trust Evaluation under the European Certificate Policy (EU CP) – awarded by TÜV Informationstechnik GmbH, a leading independent testing body.
The EU CP defines a unified security framework for Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS), ensuring that vehicles, infrastructure, and traffic management systems can exchange data securely and reliably. This certification is a key requirement for deploying C-ITS services across Europe.
OBU2X: Enabling Safer, Smarter Driving
Yunex Traffic’s OBUs integrate vehicles into cooperative traffic systems, allowing them to receive and transmit real-time information such as hazard alerts, priority signals for public transport and emergency vehicles, and early warnings that help drivers adjust their behavior proactively. This contributes to safer roads for all – especially for vulnerable groups like pedestrians and cyclists.
With high-precision GPS, robust V2X communication capabilities, and a plug-and-play design, the OBUs are easy to install and compatible with a wide range of vehicle types – making them ideal for both urban fleets and public service vehicles.
Certified Cybersecurity for Critical Mobility Infrastructure
Following a comprehensive evaluation process, the OBUs have demonstrated compliance with the EU CP’s strict security requirements for L1, including secure authentication, and adherence to Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) standards. These measures ensure the integrity and confidentiality of all transmitted data.
