Yunex Traffic has been awarded a six-year contract to operate Warsaw’s Integrated Traffic Management System. The partnership goes beyond maintenance, focusing on modernization and innovation to help shape the future of mobility in one of Europe’s most dynamic cities. It represents a significant step toward safer, smarter, and more sustainable traffic management in Poland’s capital.
Keeping Warsaw moving
Under the agreement, Yunex Traffic will operate 480 intersections along Warsaw’s main entry corridors, manage the Wisłostrada and Zesłańców Syberyjskich tunnels, and oversee 127 Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) points, variable message signs, and bicycle totems.
Beyond day-to-day operations, the company will be responsible for the maintenance and continuous modernization of Warsaw’s Integrated Traffic Management System – ensuring a safe, reliable, and future-ready traffic infrastructure for the city.
Modernization for a safer, greener city
Over the next six years, Yunex Traffic will replace outdated equipment at around 50 intersections, install 300 new poles, lay 30 kilometers of cable, and upgrade 720 detectors.
Each year, 20 additional intersections will be integrated into the system, while the measurement network will expand by 26 points. Aleja Niepodległości will also be integrated with a new cycling route, supporting more sustainable urban mobility.
What this means for the city:
- Safer roads through modern infrastructure and advanced monitoring
- Reduced congestion enabled by intelligent traffic control and real-time data
- Greener mobility supported by integrated cycling infrastructure and air quality monitoring
- Future-ready systems designed to foster digital innovation and sustainability.
Innovation at the heart
In close cooperation with the City Authority, Yunex Traffic will develop a forward-looking strategy and pilot innovative solutions, including:
- A Digital Twin of Warsaw, enabling virtual traffic simulation and optimization
- AI-powered analytics to support data-driven traffic management
- Integration with air quality monitoring systems to advance environmental objectives
Looking ahead
As one of Poland’s most vibrant cities, Warsaw continues to set benchmarks for smart urban mobility. Yunex Traffic is proud to support this journey with intelligent, sustainable solutions for drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, and public transport users alike. We thank the Warsaw Road Authority for their trust and look forward to six years of collaboration focused on innovation, efficiency, and long-term impact.
