CERTAIN
Resilient and Continuous safety assurance methodology for CCAM and its HMI components
Impact
Working alongside regulators and stakeholders, CERTAIN will develop, test and integrate these critical new components across four real-world use cases. Covering everything from cars to commercial vehicles, the project focuses on safety, trust, user acceptance and comfort for all road users through in-life assessment. With leading European partners on board, CERTAIN aims to pave the way for trusted, scalable CCAM deployment across Europe’s roads.
Objective
Widespread adoption of connected and automated mobility (CCAM) hinges on public trust, proven safety and robust validation methods. However, current frameworks fall short of addressing the full complexity of mixed traffic, varying automation levels and diverse user needs. In this context, the EU-funded CERTAIN project steps in to strengthen the existing scenario-based safety assurance framework.
