From 19–23 October, the UK & ERTICO – ITS European Pavilion, stand P17, will bring together 9 co-exhibiting organisations and companies to showcase their cutting-edge technologies and expertise on the global stage during the ITS World Congress 2026 in Gangneung, South Korea.
Co-created with Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) and LCRIG, ERTICO is pleased to host this year's Pavilion, reflecting the close collaboration between the organiser, host and supporters of the next ITS World Congress in Birmingham, UK, 25 - 29 October 2027.
Throughout the week, the Pavilion will become a meeting hub to discuss the latest trends in British and European innovation presented by the co-exhibiting organisations, and to meet the teams behind Birmingham 2027.
At the heart of the Pavilion is a shared ambition to demonstrate how innovation is being translated into practical mobility solutions. ERTICO will be joined by European co-exhibitors working across connected mobility, automated vehicles, traffic monitoring and emerging technologies, with presentations and demonstrations offering participants the opportunity to discover their work in more detail.
From automotive technology to humanoid robotics
AUMOVIO brings a broad portfolio of technologies for safe, connected and autonomous mobility, spanning sensor solutions, displays, braking and comfort systems, software, architecture platforms and advanced driver assistance systems.
In Gangneung, AUMOVIO will turn its attention to the emerging field of humanoid robotics. Drawing on its automotive heritage, AUMOVIO is exploring how expertise in components, scalable supply chains, functional safety and cost optimisation can support humanoid manufacturers as the sector moves towards greater industrial readiness.
Participants will be able to see this work first-hand through AUMOVIO's Humanoid Demo Presentation on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 14:00–14:30, and on Thursday and Friday from 10:00–10:30.
Supporting interoperable C-ITS deployment
As connected mobility continues to develop, interoperability between vehicles, infrastructure and services remains fundamental to successful large-scale deployment.
The CAR 2 CAR Communication Consortium contributes to this evolution through the development of interoperability profiles, security specifications and testing approaches for Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS). Its work supports the progression of C-ITS from research and pilot activities towards large-scale, real-world deployment.
The Consortium also works with C-ROADS to align vehicle and infrastructure solutions and support end-to-end interoperability, alongside secure and privacy-preserving communication.
Visitors can hear more from CAR 2 CAR during its Pavilion presentation on Monday, 19 October from 15:30–16:00.
Advancing connected and automated mobility in Ireland
Ireland will showcase its work to advance connected and automated mobility, including the development of its national Connected and Automated Vehicle strategy and its experience with C-ITS.
Ireland has successfully piloted C-ITS using ITS-G5 technology and is participating in the European Large-Scale Testbed for automated vehicles, supporting cross-border testing and deployment pathways while building evidence around the technical, operational and regulatory requirements for automated mobility.
An important part of this ecosystem is Future Mobility Campus Ireland in Shannon, an open-access testing and development environment combining physical infrastructure with digital capabilities, connectivity, sensors and simulation. The campus provides a national platform for the testing, validation and demonstration of future mobility technologies.
Ireland will share more about this work during its Pavilion presentation on Tuesday, 20 October at 12:00.
Using fibre infrastructure for intelligent traffic monitoring
TAMDATA will bring a different perspective on the digitalisation of road infrastructure. TAMDATA Monitoring uses Distributed Fibre Optic Sensing (DFOS) technology to continuously capture traffic data along the road, detecting vehicle position, speed and behaviour in real time and identifying events such as traffic jams, incidents and anomalies.
By enabling continuous monitoring from every metre of the road, the technology is designed to support intelligent traffic management and road safety. Compared with traditional traffic monitoring systems, TAMDATA Monitoring also requires considerably less physical infrastructure. A single fibre-optic sensing line can replace multiple cameras, gantries, power supplies and communication networks, reducing installation requirements as well as investment, maintenance and operating costs.
TAMDATA will present its approach during Pavilion presentations on Wednesday, 21 October and Friday, 23 October at 11:30.
Join the conversation with the delegation of ERTICO on-site
On Wednesday, 21 October, from 11:00–12:00, ERTICO will host a dedicated workshop at the Pavilion, bringing participants together to exchange perspectives, share expertise and connect with the ERTICO community.
The conversation continues from 12:30–13:30 with a dedicated panel discussion led by Paul Hutton from Highways News, where ERTICO CEO Joost Vantomme will share his expertise, drawing on ERTICO's 35-year legacy and expertise in Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). He will also present opportunities to exhibit, become a partner, and to submit papers for the Technical Programme with the Call for Contributions opening later in the week, on 22 October.
The week will also offer many other moments to reconnect with colleagues, friends and new participants. While the ERTICO delegation will continue its traditional Partners tour throughout the exhibition, the Pavilion will also host many other opportunities to engage, including the UK reception on Tuesday 20 October at 14:30 and on Thursday 22 October at 14:30 following the signing of an MoU between ITS UK and ITS Korea. ERTICO will also host one of the three regional receptions on the same day, starting at 17:30.
Bringing European and UK expertise together
Alongside the European co-exhibitors, the Pavilion will showcase a wider selection of UK mobility organisations and initiatives, bringing together industry, public authorities and transport innovation expertise.
The UK presence includes AGD Systems, Podaris and Kudata, Q-Free, Connected Places Catapult and Zenzic, alongside transport innovation organisations including the Transport Technology Forum, LCRIG and ITS UK.
Together, this mix of expertise reflects the breadth of the intelligent mobility ecosystem and the importance of collaboration in moving technologies from development and testing towards deployment. The Pavilion will provide a place to continue these conversations throughout the Congress, connecting organisations working on different parts of the mobility system and creating opportunities to exchange knowledge, explore solutions and build new partnerships.
