Impact
periASTY aims to integrate peri-urban areas in the transition towards climate neutrality, contributing to the EU Mission Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities and supporting Europe’s climate goals. The project develops flexible and adaptable solutions in mobility, energy, industry, and governance, tailored to the specificities of peri-urban areas.
Objectives
- Co-design with stakeholders and citizens mobility, energy, and industry concepts along with business and governance models, and deploy them in 9 Living Labs to improve accessibility, safety, efficiency, inclusivity, and reduce emissions and congestion.
- Accelerate clean energy production, grid decarbonisation, and develop related business models and pricing schemes.
- Enhance industrial efficiency and circularity, improve waste management, and support peri-urban industries in the green transition.
