As organiser of the EMEA World Congresses, ERTICO – ITS Europe is pleased to organise the 33rd edition in Birmingham, United Kingdom, from 25–29 October 2027.
Bringing together global mobility leaders, policymakers, industry innovators, researchers, and cities, the ITS World Congress 2027 will serve as a key platform to accelerate the deployment of intelligent, connected, and sustainable mobility solutions worldwide.
Hosted by Transport for West Midlands and West Midlands Combined Authority, Birmingham 2027 will showcase how collaboration across sectors can help shape safer, more resilient and more efficient transport systems. The Congress will provide a unique opportunity for stakeholders from across the ITS ecosystem to exchange knowledge, demonstrate innovation, and strengthen international cooperation around the future of mobility.
Building on the momentum generated during the 17th ITS European Congress in Istanbul, ERTICO has already begun engaging with partners, exhibitors and public authorities to prepare a forward-looking programme that reflects the rapidly evolving mobility landscape. From connected and automated mobility to data-driven traffic management, clean transport and integrated multimodal services, Birmingham 2027 will highlight tangible solutions addressing today’s mobility challenges while preparing for tomorrow’s journey.
An innovation ecosystem with global reach
As organiser of the Congress, ERTICO will bring together its extensive innovation ecosystem, showcasing collaborative European initiatives and public-private cooperation across connected, cooperative and automated mobility, AI-enabled transport systems, logistics, digital infrastructure and sustainable urban mobility.
In the UK, strong support from the Department for Transport (DfT), Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) and the Intelligent Transport Systems UK (ITS UK) is reinforcing Birmingham’s position as a leading hub for transport innovation, international collaboration and future mobility deployment.
With continued investment across the UK in connected mobility, digital transport infrastructure and decarbonisation, organisations are moving early to strengthen their visibility, partnerships and market positioning ahead of 2027.
The pace of commitments is already building strong anticipation across the sector. For organisations seeking to engage with the technologies, discussions and partnerships shaping the future of mobility, Birmingham is rapidly establishing itself as an essential destination on the global ITS calendar.
